MINEVO was born in Japan. Due to his father’s job, he has lived in several different countries since he was 8 years old, including Thailand, Germany and the United States. He often says that it is this valuable experience of moving from East to West that has shaped him as a ‘cosmic mind’ artist.

He studied contemporary American art in New York, then moved back to Japan in 1971, and has been active as a contemporary artist since then. He is interested in using computers as a medium to express his imaginary world.

‘In my work, I want to express the fundamental structure of the universe, not only regarding the universe as matter, but also considering the relationship between matter and mind. My aim is to create something new to unify science, philosophy, religion and art.’ – MINEVO
