‘Daniel Lee has lived in London for nearly 30 years. He graduated from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and resigned from Liaoning Fine Arts Publishing House to study in the UK. Then he stayed, worked hard, and lived there. He has been painting, sketching, and visiting exhibitions in various art museums for decades, absorbing the essence of foreign culture. His current paintings are so glamorous, he has the charm of authentic oil paintings. It is not simply looking through the picture album to and paint to no end. This is the result of decades of nourishment in England and Europe. He knows that he is far away from the domestic scene and cannot be as courageous and vigorous as in the country, but he needs a pen to paint and draw something that is enduring and that people are willing to see. Now, don’t you find these paintings pleasant to look at?’ – Wang Chunchen, Director of the Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum, China
